 We invite psychologists, other mental health professionals, researchers, teachers, students, and other activists to join Psychologists for Social Responsibility for our July 2010 Conference, "Toward a More Socially Responsible Psychology."

 In a relaxed, creative, and interactive environment, conference attendees will explore the mixed influences of psychology in both advancing and restraining the promotion of peace, social justice, human rights, and sustainability.

 We're anticipating a very special conference, one that will provide an unusual opportunity to learn together while building a stronger and broader community of PsySR members and others committed to shared social change work.

 **CALL FOR PROPOSALS**

 PsySR invites proposals for conference programs. Proposed programs should be 90 minutes in length. Most should examine and illuminate the links between psychology and social change efforts by exploring general principles, case examples, or new applications. All proposals should encourage and allow ample time for audience discussion and participation. We also invite proposals for a planned poster session.

 Sample topics might include: psychology and nonviolent action; building an effective anti-war movement; organizing in the 21st century; overcoming racial, ethnic, and class divides; combating disillusionment in politics; working with vulnerable communities; psychological challenges and pitfalls in coalition-building; activism on college campuses; peacebuilding principles; successes and failures in the anti-torture movement; pro bono opportunities for mental health professionals; ethical challenges in advertising and marketing; and psychology's role in addressing climate change.

 Proposals are welcome from PsySR members and from non-members as well. Panel, workshop, or discussion session proposals should include a title for the program; a 300-word summary of the panel or workshop; the names and contact information for all participants; and, where appropriate, a description of each participant's contribution. Poster proposals should include a title; a 150-word summary of the poster; and the names and contact information for all participants. All proposals will be peer-reviewed.

 Proposals should be submitted via email. The deadline for submission is March 1st at 5 PM, with notification of acceptance no later than April 15th.
