“Collaboration in Context”
The 2007 Southeastern Ecological Community Conference

October 5th through 7th, 2007 Georgia State University campus, Atlanta, GA

The Community Psychology students at Georgia State University cordially invite you to attend the 2007 Southeastern ECO Conference in Atlanta, GA. The ECO conference is designed to promote both scholarly and accessible discussion among graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, community partners, and other friends of community psychology in a relaxed, community-building context. In this vein, we are seeking proposals for presentations and posters. This year’s conference will explore what it means to collaborate in diverse contexts. Collaboration with different communities and academic fields are primary tenets of community psychology, but how successfully do we as researchers espouse these goals? As students we must think about how the university environment affects the quality, type, and impact of our collaborations, and we must consider what this means for our field and for our collaborating partners. Potential submissions could include examples of successful or less-than successful collaborative efforts, ethical issues, or contextual complications in collaboration. With community psychology heading in a multidisciplinary direction, what lessons must we take with us to be successful collaborators? We look forward to seeing you there!
