Dear SCRA Members,

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and is managing to stay cool! For those of you who are planning to attend the APA Annual Convention this year in Washington DC, I am sure you are aware that it is fast approaching. The conference will take place from Thursday August 4th through Sunday, August 7th and we have planned an exciting SCRA program. This year our program will kick off Thursday morning with presentations and symposia focused on youth. This will be followed by our Friday presentations that will focus on health care service delivery in community settings. The highlight of the program will be on Saturday which will include a full day of SCRA programming, starting with a symposium at 9 am on methodological approaches to community based research and culminating with the Presidential Address from our esteemed President, Patricia O'Connor, Ph.D.  Dr. Connor's address will be followed by our Business Meeting at 5 pm and the SCRA Social Hour at 7 pm.  Our program will end with two symposia focused on community based interventions scheduled for Sunday morning.

It is important to note that the SCRA Social Hour will take place in the SCRA suite at the Grand Hyatt Washington, which is the headquarter hotel for the Convention. Because we are hosting the social hour in our suite instead of a hotel meeting room, the social hour will not be advertised in the APA program, so please keep the social hour in mind. This is a great opportunity to socialize with old friends and network with new colleagues in the field. Food and drinks will be provided. Periodic reminders and updates concerning the social hour and its exact location will be sent out via the SCRA list serve up until Saturday, August 6th, the day of the social hour. In addition, the hotel will post the suite numbers for each division in the lobby.

Again, we are excited about the upcoming SCRA program at the APA Annual Convention and we look forward to seeing you in Washington DC! If you have any questions concerning any aspect of the SCRA program, please contact me directly at
