The DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY at SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY invites applications for two tenure-track appointments as Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology to begin August 2011. The first position may be in any area of psychology as long as the research focus is on diversity and/or disparities, broadly defined. The second position may also be in any area of psychology, but the research focus must be on cancer disparities. Opportunities for the cancer disparities position exist within the NCI-funded U54 Partnership grants held jointly between SDSU and UCSD, including membership in the UCSD Moores Cancer Center, access to relevant Moores Cancer Center resources, and opportunities to collaborate with scientists from the Moores Cancer Center. Strong preference will be given to candidates with significant extramural support and interest in developing and implementing research related to culturally diverse populations. The Psychology Department has an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology offered jointly with the Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine, University of California, San Diego; MA programs in psychology with emphases in behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, developmental, learning and cognition, physical and/or mental health research, and social/personality; an MS program in applied psychology with emphases in industrial/organizational and program evaluation; and a large and diverse population of undergraduate majors. Additional information about SDSU and the Psychology Department can be found at and
