Bachelor's Degree required in business administration or related field. Masters degree and experience in administrative management preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
7 or more years combined experience in marketing strategy; business operations management; university research center design; cross-disciplinary facilitation; stakeholder engagement; grants management; budget oversight and management; contract negotiation; proposal development; social media management; public speaking; media relations and outreach; research dissemination; events and conference oversight; supervision of staff. Must be able to work in a deadline-oriented environment. Extensive experience in consumer and family development or education a plus.

Principal duties:
50% The Director will work extensively and collaboratively with the principal investigators that are associated with the Centers of Excellence as well with other Faculty, Staff and Students. This position will play a key role in working with cross campus faculty to identify collaborative research opportunities and will work with them to develop pre-proposals, proposals, and budgets for submission to funding agencies. This position functions primarily as a pre-award coordinator in the cross campus collaborations in working with the Center for Financial Security, Center for Integrative Design, Center for Family Studies and the Center for Non-Profits.

30% Concentrate on developing collaborations to attract new government, foundation, and private sector funding to support research and provide leadership in the administrative oversight of Center operations related to pre-proposal and proposal development. Work with Center directors to identify and recruit on and off campus affiliates and research fellows. Foster development of tools for affiliates to increase networking and new connections between funders and affiliates. Engage local, state, and national stakeholders and coordinate relationships and engagement activities. 

10% Recruit external research advisory board and coordinate research workshops to highlight current research, opportunities for future research and partnerships, and build the SoHE research brand as a recognized hub for human ecology applied research. Create forums for Centers of Excellence to share best practices and to engage in innovative research, education, and/or outreach, and dissemination activities. 

10% Provide top level leadership in the overall administration of the research programs and will collaborate with school and campus finance and administration functions, Research and Sponsored Programs, Office of Industrial Partnerships, Institutional Review Board, to facilitate the research. This position will initiate and develop administrative procedures affecting the principal investigators, and those staff that monitor budgets, prepare financial statements and final reports to develop and enhance the Centers of Excellence and their research programs. Develop and administer best practices, procedures, and tools for research administration, outreach and dissemination.
