Please describe your primary work including the setting and primary focus of your work:
The Population Council is an international, nonprofit, nongovernmental organization that seeks to improve the well-being and reproductive health of current and future generations around the world and to help achieve a humane, equitable, and sustainable balance between people and resources. The Council conducts research in three areas: HIV and AIDS; poverty, gender, and youth; and reproductive health. Established in 1952, the Council is governed by an international board of trustees. Its New York headquarters supports a global network of regional and country offices.

I joined the Council in December 2009 to lead the Demographic Data for Development project. This is the second phase of our data sharing project funded by the Hewlett Foundation. In this phase, we are working to improve data access and use among members of the media in Ghana, Senegal, and Namibia.

In addition to this work, I am also involved in several other projects, such as a working paper on urban slums and HIV/AIDS for UN-HABITAT and UNAIDS, an initiative to develop a learning agenda on mapping and GIS for the Council, and an impact evaluation of a microenterprise development program for young women in northern Uganda. I am also working to develop new projects to broaden my portfolio.

Please describe any other work or projects that you do as a community psychologist (paid or volunteer):

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Global Public Health in the NYU Master's Program in Global Public Health

What training do you have in community psychology? What helped prepare you for this career?

Doctorate in Clinical-Community Psychology from the University of South Carolina

MA in International Studies from the University of South Carolina

Spent 8 months conducting fieldwork for my dissertation in northern Uganda

Please list any professional affiliations:

 American Association of Geographers

Several other societies with late dues payments. SCRA is probably one of them.
