MOREHOUSE COLLEGE, ATLANTA, GEORGIA. The
Department of Psychology invites applications for a one-year Visiting
Assistant Professor position beginning August 2014 to May 2015 in
the area of educational, developmental or community psychology. The
department seeks an innovative scholar and teacher deeply invested in
the mission of Morehouse.
Applicants should have experience teaching and will be expected to
teach courses ranging from upper level courses in her or his area of
specialty to introductory level psychology courses such as introduction
to psychology and research methods and statistics.
The ideal candidate will be interested in going beyond simply advising
students and excited about mentoring students, supervising research
projects, and guiding students through the graduate school application
and other post-graduation processes.
Candidates should have a doctoral degree by the start date; demonstrate
the capacity to maintain a well-developed plan for engaging in
scholarship in an environment that values quality, peer-reviewed
publications representing traditional scholarship, faculty-student
collaborations, and pedagogical research; and share an excitement with
engaging members of the psychology department, Morehouse College
community, and the academic psychology community more generally.
