NYU Shanghai seeks to fill one or more open-rank, tenured, or tenure-track positions in the field of Applied
Psychology to begin in the Fall Semester of 2015. We welcome candidates conducting work in subdisciplines of
psychology with a strong applied, cultural and/or intervention focus (applied developmental psychology; applied
social psychology; community psychology), and with interdisciplinary links to other social science
disciplines. Research areas of interest include (but are not limited to): Cross-national and cultural perspectives in
child, youth and adult development; prevention science; intervention, program and policy evaluation; and contexts
of human development, such as families, schools, peers and communities. We are interested in candidates with
experience conducting research in low- and middle-income countries, particularly in the context of China and
Asia. In addition, candidates should show a commitment to research and teaching in an interdisciplinary,
collaborative social science context. NYU Shanghai is developing an active interdisciplinary faculty group
working with other NYU faculty in New York, Abu Dhabi, and other NYU Global Studies sites. The faculty
member(s) occupying this position will play a key role in the growth of that work group. All candidates should
have an active research program. More senior candidates should have a distinguished record of research and a
demonstrated record of leadership in collaborative work.
The terms of employment in NYU Shanghai are comparable to U.S. institutions in terms of research start-up
funds and compensation, and include housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children. Faculty may also
