Post-Doctoral Research Associate Position Working with National Mentoring Resource Center

A full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate position with an immediate (earliest feasible) start date is available to provide assistance with evidence review, translation, and dissemination for the newly established and Federally-funded National Mentoring Resource Center. The postdoctoral research associate will work under the Research Director for the Center, Dr. David DuBois, at the Institute for Health Research and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). The initial position will be through the end of the current Federal fiscal year (i.e., 9/30/15), with potential for a further 1-year appointment contingent on availability of funding and satisfactory work performance. Salary will be competitive. Please note that this is not a postdoctoral training position; as such, a stipend or other similar allowances for professional development activities will not be available except as directly related to the purposes of the work involved.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should have the following qualifications:
· Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g., Psychology, Public Health, Education, Sociology)
· Substantive knowledge of current theory, research, and practice in the areas of prevention and positive youth development as well as, ideally, youth mentoring specifically
· Formal training and substantial experience in quantitative research methods (particularly program evaluation)
· Excellent organizational and writing skills.
Applicants in the final stages of completing their doctoral degree will also be considered, in which case the position would be that of a Research Specialist until the doctoral degree has been received.
