The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a term faculty appointment for academic year 2015-2016. The appointment is at the rank of Professorial Lecturer for a 9-month full-time term position and will commence on August 31, 2015.

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree or have completed all requirements for that degree by August 2015. Area of specialization may include Clinical Psychology or Social Psychology with clinical interests. Successful candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching, such as very positive teaching evaluations.

The position will require the applicant to teach three courses per semester, including, but not limited to, introductory courses in psychology and social psychology, advanced undergraduate courses in research methods and social psychology applied to clinical issues, and graduate-level courses in cognitive-behavior therapy theory and research, developmental psychology, and psychopathology. All faculty are expected to hold office hours and participate in Department activities and service.
