Associate-Research & Capacity Building-Health Equity

We are seeking a full-time Associate to lead research and technical assistance tasks for national and local initiative across the U.S. You will work with public agency leaders and non-profit representatives, community leaders, evaluators, and others on federal, state, and foundation initiatives. We will rely on your knowledge, skills, and experience in community development and systems change to foster healthy communities, families, and children in order to address the social determinants of health disparities and promote effective strategies to promote large scale health equity. You must be well organized, have high standards for your work, and be committed to scientific rigor and progressive social change through community capacity building.

Qualifications:       

[if !supportLists]·         [endif]4 years of experience (at least two years’ experience post graduate degree) in the implementation of research or evaluation of community based or systems change projects that promote improved health for diverse communities, preferably on government contracts;

[if !supportLists]·         [endif]Master’s or doctoral degree (preferred) in a public health or community health related social science;

[if !supportLists]·         [endif]Knowledge or research experience in health disparities and health equity at the community or systems level. Evaluation capacity building experience highly desirable;

[if !supportLists]·         [endif]Prior task management and staff supervisory experience and skills;

[if !supportLists]·         [endif]Successful experience conducting research or evaluation cross culturally;

[if !supportLists]·         [endif]Demonstrated proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research skills, including data collection and management;

[if !supportLists]·         [endif]Analysis skills, including the use of proficient computer analysis tools (e.g. STATA, MS ACCESS or ArcGIS) ;

[if !supportLists]·         [endif]Ability to travel;

[if !supportLists]·         [endif]Strong communication (written and verbal) skills including publications in scientific or practitioner outlets and

[if !supportLists]·         [endif]Ability to multi-task, attend to detail, and meet strict deadlines
