AAPF is urgently seeking an enthusiastic Research Assistant to join our team! This position is a temporary remote role with the potential to transition into an in-office permanent role. The Research Assistant will contribute research to the African American Policy Forum’s, Professor Kimberlé Crenshaw’s, and the Center for Intersectionality and Social Policy Studies’ (CISPS) ongoing international and domestic projects, intersectional issues, policy development, and media coverage.

The Ideal Candidate should have:
- Scholarly understanding of Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality
- Familiarity with Kimberlé Crenshaw's work
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- A legal and/or social science background
- Experience in multidisciplinary research 
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Full participation in brainstorming sessions with the AAPF team;
- Conducting research for various ongoing AAPF projects including #SayHerName campaign, Under the Blacklight webinar series, Black - Girls Matter report, AAPF blog and statements, and other AAPF programming;
- Supporting the Executive Director and other leadership for various projects such as speech writing, media appearance preparation, op-eds, a bi-monthly column in The New Republic, and forthcoming books.
