UNC Center of Excellence Maternal and Child Health Postdoctoral Program
The Maternal and Child Health Center of Excellence in the Department of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) at the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill is pleased to announce the UNC Center of Excellence Maternal and Child Health Postdoctoral Program. Funding for this program is from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, Health Resources & Services Administration.
This one to two year postdoctoral program prepares scholars for successful academic positions within the field of MCH. It enhances scholars’ proficiency in MCH research (including scientific publication), teaching (including curriculum development), conceptual knowledge, communication, and professionalism/leadership. Postdoctoral scholars will work with MCH faculty and an array of partners, including those from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, state/local Title V agencies, and others. Each postdoctoral scholar will work with a mentoring committee. The mentoring committee will include a primary faculty mentor in the Department of Maternal and Child Health who is matched to the scholar based on research and teaching interests. Two additional faculty from the Department will serve as secondary mentors. Successful completion of the postdoctoral program entails meeting learning objectives set by the postdoctoral scholar and the mentoring committee.
